Christian Bale is John Conner in Terminator 4?

Is Christian Bale, Batman himself, going to star in the latest Terminator 4 movie? That’s the word coming out of various sources, but originated from the guys at Aint it Cool News. They actually say that Bale will be playing John Conner in T4, but other places are saying that Bale will be a Terminator. Other places still are thinking that it’s more likely that Bale will be playing the new character who will be introduced in T4 as reported and carry the rest of the series.

Hey folks, Harry here again… The above was posted by AICN’s Behind-The-Scenes God, RoRo - as Time-Warner knocked out my internet this morning in a widespread pre-emptive strike to attempt to silence the news that Bruce Wayne was John Connor… But I want y’all to think about this for a second. McG has done more than just CHARLIE’S ANGELS - his film WE ARE MARSHALL was a very solid and tonally realistic film. Personally - I love what McG did with CHARLIE’S ANGELS - it was fun, kinetic and exactly what that version of CHARLIE’S ANGELS should be. Then there’s the fact that he cast the T-1000 in WE ARE MARSHALL - which means, probably, he’s a fan of T2 - or just has the coolness to just recognize that Robert Patrick is the shit. Either way - He’s managed to cast Christian Bale in TERMINATOR SALVATION - and that’s pretty huge.

I think it’s more likely that Bale will be playing the as-yet introduced new character that the new Terminator trilogy that is being planned will be centered around. I guess we’ll all have to wait and see.

Looks like it’s confirmed that Bale IS in talks to star as John Conner. MSN said this:

Bale is obviously set financially with Chris Nolan’s “Batman” series, and why would an actor who spent weeks in the jungles of Thailand with acclaimed filmmaker Werner Herzog want to work with a director whose career achievement is “Charlie’s Angels”? And considering how much time “Batman Begins” and “The Dark Knight” have taken out of his schedule (the “Knight” shoot took more than six months), why would he commit to what is expected to be the first of three new “Terminator” movies? Those questions have yet to be answered, but on a hunch, I contacted someone close to the production who, much to my surprise, confirmed Bale is in serious talks for the role but hasn’t yet signed on the dotted line.
