After dropping hints that he would like everyone from Daniel Day Lewis to Josh Brolin for his upcoming T4, director McG has instead decided to go with Australian actor Sam Worthington. According to Digital Spy, Worthington will be playing Marcus, the “bad-ass Riddick type” that the new Terminator trilogy will follow as he rises to an important position alongside John Connor (Christian Bale) in the fight against the machines. For more information about Marcus, read what the producers of the movie have to say about him here.

Sam Worthington is a wanted man nowadays in Hollywood, and he seems to have a toehold on the Terminator family. Besides being cast as Marcus in T4, Worthington is also the star of James Cameron’s upcoming “Avatar” sci-fi epic. In fact, according to DS, it was Cameron who recommended Worthington to McG!

Hmmm I dont know, I dont see the scruffy pretty boy type playing a terminator…..If i remember right these are supposed to be T600 terminators that had “Rubber Skin” but besides that still had the stature of the T800….I could of course be wrong but from the pic above he doesnt exactly look like a big dude….

I’ve been a fan of Sam Worthington for years- it’s great to see him starting to get some larger roles here in the US! And no he’s not a little guy - he can pull it off
