TSCC Preview: Season 2 Episode 8 (2.08) Mr. Ferguson is Ill Today
Will this be the end of Riley? Well, we can only hope, can’t we? After all, just how much of the completely manufactured madness of the super sneaky ninja (or whatever it was she called herself) is one supposed to stomach before our lunch makes a return appearance on the tray. Episode eight of The Sarah Connor Chronicles season 2 appears, in many ways, to be a real storyline changer, as multiple parties come to a head after a season-long of teasing: Cromartie once again catches up to John (in Mexico, no less), while Sarah and Ellison finally meet and, according to the promos, joins forces against Cromartie. Or do they?
Official Description:
John and Riley’s impromptu trip to Mexico results in deadly consequences. Meanwhile, Sarah and Ellison finally come face-to-face.
Cast: Lena Headey as Sarah Connor; Thomas Dekker as John Connor; Summer Glau as Cameron; Brian Austin Green as Derek Reese; Richard T. Jones as James Ellison; Garret Dillahunt as Cromartie; Shirley Manson as Catherine Weaver; Leven Rambin as Riley

I sure hope-to-heavens that Riley is about to become a footnote to the Terminator tales. I don’t care if John shares emotional conflicts with the teens of the world. He’s John Connor, the leader of the revolution against The Machines! He broke his Mother out of an asylum at 12-years old. I don’t need to be hearing a teen anthem in my head, as he bitches to his cool girlfriend about his ‘weird’ Mom.
I’m sick to death of Emo John and his quest to just be a normal kid. Maybe when he sees his precious Riley’s neck snapped by Cromartie, he’ll begin to morph into his future self? It also bears the bonus fruit of driving him closer to Cameron. (”I love you, John…and you love me!”) Lord knows that chemistry is 1,000 times more engaging than the One Tree Terminator direction, of John with his ‘normal’ girl. KILL RILEY NOW!
(We could certainly use more screen time for Summer Glau anyway. Lately, she has been little more than a prop…a weapon that speaks English, and looks amazing.)

has anybody considered that this may be the end for Cromarte? I think he might just lose for good this time and guess what I think John will destroy him and yeas I can hope Riley bites it first I won;t miss her and I am sure most fans of this show will not ether I have said before how I think Ellison and Sarah meeting face to face is going to be good I am really looking forward to Sarah’s reaction to him and I highly doabt she just going to say welcome to the team

Could it be possible that Ellison bites it in this episode? That would be a shame - he is starting to grow on me.
And, yeah - Riley needs to go. I understand why they included her - trying to develop John’s character and highlight how a ‘real’ teenager would struggle in this situation - but she was so unconvincing and there was very little chemistry between them. I would like to know more about the relationship between Cameron and the future John Connor. To me, that story arc is a lot more interesting.

The bit i’m interested in is the terminators killing each other. Are we going to see an ‘enlightened’ terminator race or splinter group in the future?
I think Riley should be given a break, i think there is good potential there, I like the fact that a ‘civilian’ with no idea that there are terminators running about, is brought into the story, it add another dimension (it also brings another pretty girl to attract more male viewers of that age group).

I agree Ellison has been very cool lately unlike last season Ellison’s part has been interesting since Cromarte killed that S.W.A.T. team at the end of last season I actually will miss him if he goes next week it will be a tragic waste of a character that is actually bringing a lot to the story
give Reilly a break I think I did by saying she was not bad in this most recent episode but that alone is not going to make me turn around and like her character seriously what potential could she possibly have she is a civilian she does not know the first thing about John and his family or what they and he in particular have been or will go through in future for that matter and if she ever finds she will not believe it anyway she is a liability a danger to John and she herself is in danger as long as she tries to hang out with him Riley is not a need part of the show and most of us myself included would not miss her if Cromarte kills her next week
I still think Cameron was lying about the Terminators wanting peace I still think it was a ploy on her part to trick Allison into revealing John Connor’s location so she could Terminate him I am going to have to see more evidence of this so called Terminator résistance group Cameron mentioned before I believe what she said to Allison was not a lie and a ploy
Cromarte killed the Ellison Terminator for one reason he felt that that Terminator was interfering with his own mission Cromarte can not use Ellison to find John if he is dead that is why he killed that Terminator there is no other reason for Cromarte to do that unless we are missing something which is possible

^ Uh no she won’t be. The upcoming episode “Self Made Man” is all about Cameron’s secret night life. So, she can’t die in this episode.
All evidence points to either Cromartie or Riley (I’m pretty sure it’s Cromartie).

a little late getting to this episode it was great I have been loving this show the last 2 weeks could not watch last night had to tape it watched it this morning and loved it for those who have not seen it I will not spoil who dies in this episode This episode is very different it shows the same scenes over and over again but from different prospective I felt like I was watching a live action novel the preview showed that John and Riley were going to Mexico I think John was using this as an excuse to run away from Sarah again it is like he sees her as an enemy now which I find kind of sad everybody has a part to play Sarah John Derek Riley Ellison and Cromarte Jesse and Catherine Weaver are strangely absent but that was okay eventually John and Riley’s little vacation goes to hell when Cromarte tracks John there Cromarte for the second striate week is the best part of the show Sarah is cleaning up and Cromarte walks in and grabs her and drags her across the room and kidnaps her and takes her to Mexico Cameron and Derek and even Ellison also find there way to Mexico meanwhile someone recognizes John and he and Riley get arrested John eventually gets out with Riley they get chased by Cromarte and once the gang is all together that is when the showdown happens and it is awesome I won’t go into details on that part but it is great stuff I wish the show was like this every week one final note Cameron continues to act weird there are times in this episode when she seems almost human almost not quite I wonder how much damage her chip actually has or if that damage is causing her to develop emotions anyway just a thought I give Mr. Furgusan is Ill Today 5 out 5 starts and for those who have not seen this I encourage you to go to Fox’s web site and watch this episode it is that good

OK, this episode was excellent. After Brothers of Nablus, which was quite possibly the worst episode this season, it’s really great to see the show back in top form. I loved the way the story unfolded, with views of the same happenings from every major character’s perspective. This sort of non-linear presentation of the story makes viewing more engaging if you ask me. Anyway, I’d rate this episode in my top 3 favorites for this season, along with Goodbye to All That and Allison from Palmdale, which also featured a non-linear plot structure. Cheers and I hope they keep up the good stuff!

i totally agree with you… Brothers of Nablus was worst episode ever. And i’m happy with that Sarah Connor is acting like she was before in T2. I hope John will stop making “stupid things” soon, too.
I’m confused about Cameron’s response to Cromartie’s death. Why did she look like that ?

I really liked a lot this episode, the way the stories cross rules!!! I´m from México I remember one movie with that characteristics, its called “Amores Perros” which precisely different actors have a common event where they all cross.
I agree with some of you about brothers of nablus which was a bored episode.
Greetings
