TSCC Tidbits: Dekker in Fame, Stephanie Jacobsen Joins, TSCC’s Love Triangle

A couple of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles news and tidbits that have popped up online in the last few weeks that I didn’t get to, but have finally caught up on. The first is news that Thomas Dekker may not be waiting for the show to get canned by FOX (the ratings don’t appear to be getting any better, alas), and is already lining up a major movie to star in; meanwhile, Battlestar Galactica star Stephanie Jacobsen has joined the cast; and what’s up with TV’s most unconvincing (not to mention entirely grating) love triangle? John, Riley, and Cameron have no clues, either.
First up, Thomas Dekker is in negotiations to take the lead in the remake of “Fame”:
The star of Fox’s “Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles” is in talks to take a lead role in MGM’s remake of the 1980 musical “Fame.” Dekker is gunning to play Marco, a working-class kid with some gnarly acting chops who is competing with thousands of other hopefuls to get into and survive an elite New York public high school for the arts.
Written by Allison Burnett, the revamp will be directed by Kevin Tancharoen, a director and choreographer who has worked in TV (MTV’s “DanceLife”), on music videos and on tours for such singers as Britney Spears and Jessica Simpson. Mark Canton (”300″) is producing the $25 million project along with Gary Lucchesi and Tom Rosenberg of Lakeshore Entertainment (”Elegy”).
Well, if you ever wanted to see John Connor hop around and dance, this is it, I suppose…
Next up, former Battlestar Galactica castaway Stephanie Jacobsen comes onboard TSCC as a love interest for Derek Reese. So, er, this means no squeamish Derek-Sarah love affair? Thank God. Michael Ausiello over at Entertainment Weekly had the news many moons ago, but I forgot to post it. Oops. (Plus, he also helpfully reminded us of TSCC’s sagging ratings. Thanks, Michael!)
Question: Any word on the status of Sarah Connor Chronicles? — Charles
Ausiello: I’m a little worried. The ratings for the second episode sucked big time, and if the free fall continues, I honestly don’t see how Fox can afford to keep it on the air. Very frustrating. Maybe this exclusive little casting scoopbit will help get those numbers up: Stephanie Jacobsen (Kendra Shaw of BSG: Razor) is joining the cast as a love interest for Derek (Brian Austin Green).
Finally, what’s the deelio with the John-Riley-Cameron love triangle? If this thing gets any weirder or more grating, I might have to seek out Cromartie to get him to put me out of my mystery. Kristin over at E! Online has your daily dose of Riley news, because I’m sure you all want to know. Don’t you? She also tells us a little about an upcoming male bonding episode between John and his Unc.
Fabricio from San Francisco: Do you have any information about John and Cameron’s relationship on upcoming episodes of Terminator?
Don’t get your hopes up for anything too explicit—John is focused on Riley this season. Thomas Dekker told the crowd at the Golden Apple fan event that he enjoyed playing John’s “inner emotional battle” with his feelings for Riley. In other John news, apparently episode five is a big one for John and Derek’s relationship. According to Brian Austin Green, it’s good, but, “All I can say is that it’s 52 minutes and sponsored by Dodge.” Hee.
Wow, more Riley. I’m so pleased. Look, I don’t have anything against Leven Rambin, but can her character possibly come across as more manufactured by the screenwriters? Because, you know, at this point I have an easier time believing she’s a machine from the future programmed to act kooky and eccentric instead of an actual, honest to goodness human girl.

“Look, I don’t have anything against Leven Rambin, but can her character possibly come across as more manufactured by the screenwriters?” - Well said my good man (or woman).
I agree it really is not Leven Rambin for me ether its just Reilly feels really and I mean really out of place in this series. I mean let’s look at all the characters Sarah and John Connor the entire Terminator franchise revolves around these two characters. Cameron the protector Terminator her role is obvious she is there to protect the Connors Derek Reese Kyle Reese’s older brother he plays Kyle’s role as the father figure for John Cromarte is the all important Terminator trying to kill John for Sky Net James Ellison is basically the ignorant third party that does not realize that his actions will bring about Judgment Day and Catherine Weaver is there to possibly speed up the rise of Sky Net Riley however just does not fit like the rest of the characters she comes across as annoying and if anything she slows down Johns development as the future leader of mankind Reilly really does not seem to have any purpose other then that.
OMG THEY R GONNA FUKIN CUT T:SCC OF THE AIR NO FUKIN WAY I WUD DIE IF THEY CUT IT OFF LKE THEY DNE B4 FUK SAKE THEY JUS GOT IT BK ON THE AIR I SAY “KEEP IT ON KEEP IT ON KEEP IT ON”
I would not panic just yet all we have to do as fans is keep watching the show and hope the ratings go up and pray Fox does not do something really stupid
I don’t know if FOX realizes what they are doing first off the show is well thought out and directed well people it’s not the show it’s the DAY!! how does FOX expect this show to be better if it airs it on MONDAY NIGHT!!
Derek is getting a love interest. I have one huge question, WHY? Well I like most fans do not want to see Derek get with Sarah ether but still why does Derek need a love interest. He is a soldier from the future. He is fighting so Judgment Day does not come to pass He said it himself in What He Beheld. I will do whatever it takes to keep from having to watch the world burn again. When does Derek have time for a personal life? I hope his love interest fits this series better then Reilly does. I really do.
I just read that Fox is more worried about losing Prison Break please Prison Break sucks if Fox cancels this show without trying a different day it will be the laziest cancellation I have ever seen.
Is there anyway they could track the number of views of the show via Hulu.com
Because im not able to watch tv during the afternoons since I work afternoons (as im sure most people do).
Yeah they really need to put this on like wednesday theres nothing on hump day
Thomas Dekker was on my radio show Tuesday night in the second hour, he talked for about 10 minutes about the show etc..then I played some audio that FOX sent along of Thomas, Lena and Shirley Manson all talking about the show and the second season!!

heeee u I loooooooove prison break
SCC will never get and unplanned cancellation. Ever.
They already screwed over Firefly and they paid for it severely after seeing how much money Serenity made. You also have to look at the comparitive point: What show is SCC competing against? Boston Legal, How I Met Your Mother, Big Bang Theory, and Dancing With the Stars all suck. Its real competition Chuck is only doing marginally better than SCC. Also, Fox would be ridiculous to at least not finish the 2nd season because SCC is the only thing keeping Prison Break barely afloat for its last season.
My thinking is that Fox will finish this season and at least a 3rd season–moving the show to the 9-10p slot would boost ratings considerably.
If they decide to explore (by defying physical biology as we know it) the possibility of a John/Cameron relationship–I am 100% for it, but I must say–the moment they kiss will be the climax of the series, but if they have sex (once again defying the natural balance of things) then that will be the point at which they jump the shark.
But then again, judging from Fox’s decision to book Hugh Laurie for 2 more seasons of House after it jumped the shark well over a year ago, they’re gonna try to milk this show for as long as they possibly can.
here are some link to potentially get you’re voice across to fox morons.

one word totaly gay one who plays THE john conner cannot be allowd to play in Fame its wrong just wrong…. and gay
“its wrong just wrong…. and gay”
Dude, it’s called ‘acting.’ If everyone played themselves it would just be more reality tv.
