As part of their preview of the hot movies coming out in 2009, Entertainment Weekly has two new looks at “Terminator Salvation”. Actually, the first image looks like a slap-together poster design gone wrong, featuring a commando-rigged John Connor (Christian Bale) standing next to a generic Terminator exo-skeleton. The second one seems to be a continuation from that Terminator factory image that appeared a little while ago. Check them out below.
EW:
Will it work? All signs point to yes, since the producers have already signed on for two more Terminator installments. And having the hottest leading man in Hollywood right now doesn’t hurt either. ”It was important for me to get the most credible actor of his generation to come and add gravitas to what we were trying to achieve,” says director McG. ”I wanted to respect the audience, and be very mindful of the mythology. We take this very seriously.”
From everything I’ve seen so far, this could definitely work, but it’ll be tricky. By moving the franchise forward in time and showing the aftermath of Judgment Day, they are basically taking the series away from is roots — you know, the time traveling aspect of it, not to mention the “bad Terminator stalks Connor” element that has been so important up to this point.
Anyways, the pics.
